Victory Without Weapon (A case study of conflict resolution)
This story is of that time
when I was working in Save the Children in the project of Education in
emergencies in the area of Lower Sindh Pakistan. I with my all team faced alot
of difficulties in implementation of project activities. As in lower sindh
Pakistan there is feudalistic system to run the communities. Fudalist
treat their communities only as their slaves. They have no care or concern
about the basic needs and rights of their communities. When we start
implementation of our program activities there in Sindh not a single child of
that community was going to school. But due to our strong commitment and
continues motivation and mobilization to the community and their chief we
achieve our goals. which is truly describe below:-

A case study of conflict resolution between Two Sub Villages
of Revenue Village Pandhi Kan Jafri which resulted increase in
enrollment
Victory without weapon
Responding to the floods 2012 Save
the Children started its intervention in seven schools at Shikarpur
district. Tents were installed for TLCs (Temporary Learning Centers)
in morning and CFSs (Child Friendly Spaces) at evening. Broad Based Community
Meetings, SMCs/CPCs (School Management Committies/ Child Protection
Committees) and teachers trainings and effective mobilization turned the
flow of children to TLCs and CFSs. It was too much interesting for the
children because of active learning and caring environment than ever before.
Drop out as well as out of school children also joined TLCs.
Same procedure was
followed by SC team in Lodra Village. The Chief of the village was
impressed through strong mobilization. A BBCM (Broad Based Community Meeting) was
conducted in Lodra.
The chief of the village announced
that it has been decided to end the conflict with Pandhi Khan Jafri. The
villagers agreed on the decision of the chief for the benefit of the children.
The SC Team meets the delegations of the two villagers to formalize the
conflict resolution and start of normal routine relations. And now there is no
bane on the children to join any school as well as Pandhi khan Jafri. Now
there are 35 children in GBPS Pandhi
Khan Jafri from lodra village.
